The Club 25 Lagos State Chapter in conjunction with the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service (LSBTS) had their quarterly youth engagement forum and Club 25 meeting that was powered by the Rotary Club of Ikoyi, Lagos held in Police Hospital, Falomo, Lagos.
The club 25 had their general meeting before the program started with participants from various schools and youth organizations, sharing the overview of the club, its mandate in blood safety and the pledge to voluntarily donate 25 pints of Blood and more.
Club 25 a youth driven int’l programme where youths are committed to saving lives through regular blood donations and making healthy lifestyle choices which started its operation and was commemorated by the former First Lady of Lagos State, Abimbola Fashola in 2009, where it starts its full operation in Voluntary blood donation recruitment alongside with the vision of Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service and Mr. Governors T.H.E.ME.S Agenda. The club has members representative from different organizations, schools and religious bodies.
The meeting was also a yearly remembrance of Mrs Sidikat omotoho which started last year due to her vigorous work in the awareness of blood donation and strong support.
We had various organization represented for the meeting, Timilehin Leukemia Foundation, Lagos State College of Health Technology (LASCOHET), National Youth Council of Nigeria, Girls Brigade, NYSC Red Cross Detachment, Cadet Yabatech, Lagos Central Youth Parliament and many others.
The program was opened with speech from different Rotary members, The Executive Secretary of BTS Lagos and the President of Club 25Lagos.
After the speeches, an interactive session was anchored by the ES herself on the theme “Promoting Voluntary Blood Donation Amongst Nigerian Youth”, it was an engaging one has everyone contributed their quota to what it means and asked questions to things that looks confusing to them, followed by blood donation, games and refreshment.
It was such a memorable one!!!! Club25!!!!!! To save Lives…………..
