SECURITY MUST BE THE RESPONSIBILTY OF EVERYONE

-Admiral Alade advises

The Faculty of Education Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, Ondo State held its 3-day 2nd International Conference with the edition Theme, “Security, Economy and Education For National Development. ” on 13th-15th June, 2023. The program which was started exactly 8:00am held at the Nelson Mandela Hall, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba was attended by some reputable educationists and security experts.

Former Commandant, National Defence College, Nigeria, Abuja, Rear Admiral Samuel Ilesanmi Alade Rtd (SIA) who was one of the special guests of honours at the program spoke vividly on the importance of securing our environment by emphasising that it must be a joint task.

The retired high ranking military officer, Admiral Alade advised that everybody must take a proactive measure in tackling the issue of insecurity in the country.

In his words, “It is important that we stay committed to the vision of absolute security in our land because safety is life. Security should be everybody’s business. “

While making his remarks at the occasion, Admiral Alade further appreciated the efforts of all the organizers of the program and the honor given to him to share his experience with the participants. He maintained that the program came at an appropriate time when our people need more education on security matters; especially on how to safe guard their environment by having useful information on insecurity and positive approach to it.

How do we maintain security at home and workplace, Admiral Alade advised that every home should put security cameras so that they can see and hear what’s happening inside and outside of their homes. He said everyone must be vigilant at all times.

Admiral Alade further explained that empty homes are more likely to be targeted by thieves, thus, it is very important not to leave your home empty while you are away.

In conclusion, the pyschologist philosopher, Admiral Alade Rtd thanked the faculty of education, Adekunle Ajasin University for giving him the privilege to contribute towards the success of the conference.

He said, it is with great sense of honour and humility that I stand before you this morning to make my little contribution on the said topic. Let me thank the Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Professor Ige and Dean of Faculty of Education, Prof. Hassan for inviting me to this program. He urged our people to take the issue of security very seriously. He also urged the department to look into his recommendations for a better synergy between education, economy, security and development. Admiral ALADE also encouraged the audience to have confidence in the new federal government ably led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. He assured that President Tinubu is very much committed to addressing the current insecurity in our country and that things will soon take shape. While commending Mr Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN CON, on his giant stride in curbing insecurity in Ondo State, he advised the citizens of the state to continue to cooperate with him.

Other special guests of honours and keynote speakers at the epoch making event include ; the governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN CON represented, Prof. V. O. Adeoluwa, the vice chancellor, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State as lead Paper presenter, Prof. Clement Adebisi Daramola, Deputy Vice chancellor (Administration), Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba -Akoko, Ondo State as keynote speaker, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, Vice chancellor, University of Environmental & Sustainable Development Somanya, Eastern Region, Ghana as keynote speaker among many others.
