The Osun State government has approved the conversion of the State College of Education, Ilesa to a full-fledged university.
This was disclosed by Adegboyega Oyetola, the Osun State Governor on Thursday in Ilesa during the commissioning of the Ijesa Geriatric Hospital.
Oyetola also announced that the services of KPMG have been engaged as consultants to work out a sustainable plan for the project.
In his words, “Having looked into and examined carefully the request made by prominent sons and daughters of Ijesa land, and the Owa, Our highly-revered Royal Father, His Imperial Majesty, Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Aromolaran, Government has decided to upgrade the Osun College of Education, Ilesa, to a full-fledged University.
It could be recalled that the Osun governor had promised that the state government was considering upgrading the College of Education to a university
