As part of the Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative’s goal to gainfully engage youths in the country, six youths from the Oke-Igbo Local Government Area of Ondo State have become the latest beneficiaries of the NGO’s Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programme.
The beneficiaries who were led to their respective places of skills acquisition began training immediately after presenting their parents or guardian as guarantors.
Out of the six beneficiaries, two of them opted to learn to Fashion design, another two opted to go into the field of Makeup and cosmetics and the remaining two opted for barbing skills acquisition.
The skills acquisition for the makeup category will last for 6 months while Fashion designing and barbing training will take between a year to two years.
Mr. Timothy the CEO of T-Barbing Salon in Oke-Igbo who also doubles as the DHDEI programme coordinator in the local government assured that the beneficiaries have been properly screened and registered. He assured them that soon they will return to be productive in society and for their families.
