The National Association of Ondo State Students, NAOSS, carried out its 3rd edition of the “Clean City and Climate Mitigation, 2024” programme in Odigbo Local Government.
Yesterday, the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) Clean City train moved to Ore and carried out its Clean City and Climate Mitigation programme.
The programme, initiated to promote cleanliness and environmental sustainability in the state, was attended by the NAOSS national executives, including the NAOSS UNIMED chapter, indigenous associations, and other Ondo State students.
The environmental sanitation activity started from the overhead bridge in the Ore community and extended to the Shagamu-Ore expressway. The activity provided an opportunity to sensitize market women, roadside shop owners, Okada riders, drivers, and residents of the Ore community about the various diseases spread by filth and the importance of living in a conducive environment.
While recounting the process of the programme, the national president of the association, Sen. Hammed Oyelade, expressed special appreciation to supporters who played significant roles in actualizing the project, particularly the Ondo State government for prioritizing the interests of its people.
In his message to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Sen. Oyelade said, “On behalf of Ondo State Students, I recognize your leadership vision and support that prioritize environmental protection in our community. Your dedication to creating a green and sustainable future for our region is inspiring.”
“I also appreciate the Acting Chairman of Odigbo Local Government and the Head of the Department of Environmental Services in Odigbo Local Government. Your roles in overseeing local environmental initiatives and ensuring the well-being of our community have not gone unnoticed. Your enabling efforts contributed significantly to the cleaning exercise.”
While encouraging all the residents of Odigbo Local Government to make a substantial difference in creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment, the president reiterated the association’s commitment to ensuring the safety of the students and residents of Ondo State.
