The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board held her yearly Ramadan lecture at the Board’s multi- purpose hall on Thursday, 30th March, 2023 at Maryland, Ikeja.
Hon. Wahab Alawiye- King in his address at the lecture, noted that the holy month is a time of sober reflection, forgiveness, and love.
He added that Muslim brothers and sisters should seize the opportunity to do their spiritual cleansing in the month of Ramadan.
The Chief Missioner of Jejewiyyat Muslim Association of Nigeria, Prof. Abdul-Kabir Olawale Paramole, the guest speaker who delivered a lecture on the ten commandments of Allah according to the holy Quran stated that the Almighty has warned, directed and also guided human on do’s and don’ts in the holy book.
While stating the commandments of God to Mankind, he mentioned that “as a believer you should not ascribe anything with God,” adding that it is strongly against the Islamic faith.
He added that Godliness, holiness, truthfulness, being good to one’s parents, taking care of the orphans, and showing love to one another are part of what God has commanded.
The lecturer appealed to both Muslim and non-Muslim attendees to adhere to the commandments of Allah, adding that God is strictly against killings and injustice.
He urged them to continue to share love among each other and to the people around them during and beyond Ramadan. He also advised them to mirror their daily lives in all these commandments as commanded by God, particularly in the discharge of the duties as public servants.
