LASU ALUMNI (2006 SET) MAKES DONATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS AHEAD OF NUC ACCREDITATION EXERCISE

Some members of the Lagos State University Alumni (2006 set) who graduated from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences have donated a white board, laptop and printer to the department ahead of the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation exercise coming up soon.

The donations were received by the Head, Department of Economics, Prof. Jameelah O. Yaqub, on Thursday, 9th November 2023 at the Faculty of Social Sciences, main campus, Ojo, Lagos.

Speaking on behalf of the alumni (2006 Set), Mr. Esowe Inyamma, stated that the alumni association deemed it fit to give back to their alma mater in order to appreciate the institution for impacting and shaping them into the people they are today and to support the department of economics ahead of the NUC accreditation exercise. He added that the association will continue to do more to support her alma mater.

The Head, Department of Economics, Prof. Jameelah O. Yaqub, in her response, appreciated the alumni for looking back and supporting the department with the items, adding that the donations came in at the right time. She further stated that the act of giving back to the institution by the alumni will go a long way in motivating the current students to study hard and be successful and implored them not to relent.

The donation was witnessed by Dr. Samuel O. Olaleye and Dr. Hassan T. Bello. Other representatives of the alumni (2006 set) present at the event include; Mr. Oshoma Enike, Mr. Oyeyinka Micheal, Mr. Adelegan Stephen and Principal Assistant Registrar (PAR), Academic Staff Establishment (ASE), Mr. Mobee Taiwo.
