The Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission is set to organize a maiden Individual Boxing Club Championship, scheduled to hold from October 21 to 27, at the Bishop Aggey Senior Secondary School, Mushin, Lagos.

Boxers will converge for the 7-day tournament designed to unearth more talents, encourage mass participation of clubs and all inclusiveness, serving as an outlet for pugilists to intensify their preparations for forthcoming national championships.

The championship will feature male and female boxers from the various registered boxing clubs in the State.

The week-long championships is a knock-out format where a defeated boxer exits automatically.

The championship is primarily designed to discover budding talents, encourage mass participation in sports and promote inclusiveness through engagement of talented athletes at the grassroots level.
