The Lagos State Government has assured residents of the state that there will be an increased presence of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on the roads during the festive season.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa, said that LASTMA will be strategically deployed to manage and regulate traffic flow before, during, and after the festive season ¹. He also assured that the authority will be visibly stationed at critical junctions and corridors within the city to respond promptly to any traffic disruptions.
Giwa emphasized the importance of traffic discipline in a city like Lagos, especially during the festive season when there is usually a surge in vehicular movement and commercial activities.
He appealed to motorists and all road users to cooperate with LASTMA officials, adhere strictly to traffic regulations, and exercise patience during this period.
The Lagos State Government has also advised motorists to make use of the LASTMA toll-free hotline (080000527862) for swift assistance in case of any traffic-related emergencies or inconveniences.
