The Commission has pledged to vigorously investigate and prosecute individuals implicated in Naira abuse, urging citizens to continue collaborating with law enforcement authorities.
Addressing the prevalence of old videos depicting Naira abuse, the EFCC emphasized the commencement of operations by its Special Task Force against Naira Abuse and Dollarization of the Economy on February 7, 2024.
Moving forward, the Commission affirmed its commitment to thoroughly investigate and prosecute new instances of Naira abuse captured on video.
Presently, the EFCC is actively investigating several celebrities allegedly involved in Naira abuse, with many providing statements and others summoned for questioning.
The Commission reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to upholding the law without exceptions, cautioning the public against engaging in criminal activities that undermine the integrity of the nation’s currency.
