Demonstration In LASU Over Controversial N10,000 Computer-Based Test (CBT) fee

Lagos State University (LASU) erupted into protest today , Monday as scores of students marched against the controversial N10,000 Computer-Based Test (CBT) fee and demanded the removal of police personnel from campus premises.

The demonstration, marked by chants and banners, underscored growing frustration over the financial burden imposed by the university’s CBT facilities, operated by a private entity.

“The bill from LASU CBT was very high. 85 million Naira was spent last semester, and another 80 plus million was budgeted for this semester.

The CBT is a private facility,” revealed Madam VC during a tense address outside the Senate Building.

In response to the uproar, university management has requested a three-hour period to deliberate on the students’ demands.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Institution addressing the crowd, promised a review of the fee structure and assured student leaders of a forthcoming dialogue. Despite these assurances, students remained steadfast, refusing to disperse and insisting on immediate action.

“We understand the concerns raised by our students regarding the CBT fees and police presence,” stated Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello. “Rest assured, your voices will be heard, and we are committed to finding a resolution.”
