The paramount ruler of Iba Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Sulaimon Raji Adesina, the Oniba of Iba Kingdom, who doubled as the state chairman for Lagos state parks and garages administrators (LASPAGA), has said on Wednesday that various blackmail campaign against him is yet another plot by mischievous people to tarnish the goodwill he has built over the years, describing such act as “baseless” and “strange”.
He revealed that the blackmailing acts were common on Tiktok and Instagram, describing the perpetrators as “working behind shadows and should not be taken seriously.”
The Iba monarch added that anyone that has anything against him should follow the necessary procedures, not using social media as a tool for their dastardly actions.
“I have read various allegations and smear campaigns against my person on various social media platforms. I found it not only baseless, degrading but also unfounded that people could go to any length to tarnish others image,” the king said.
While addressing the issue, Oniba said “this sheer blackmail, targeted to tarnish the goodwill I have garnered over the years will amount to nothing,” saying the allegations were cooked up to stir various controversies.
He assured the general public to keep calm and shy away from such baseless and demeaning allegations, stating that he had made formal reports to the law enforcement agencies.
“As a renowned custodian of culture and traditional ruler, my primary responsibility is to ensure peaceful co-existence among people of diverse beliefs, values and traditions. This path I have chosen and I will not deter even when mischief makers try to frustrate our collective efforts,” the revered king maintained.
“Lagos is the centre of excellence and the State apparatus shall be effectively maximised to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions,” Oniba declared.
