APC State Committee in Kano Nullifies Ganduje’s Suspension

The state working committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano has overturned the suspension of Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s national chairman, imposed by the APC executives in Dawakin ward under Tofa LGA of Kano.

The controversy erupted when the executives of Dawakin ward suspended Ganduje on Monday, citing allegations of corruption against him. Halliru Gwanzo, the legal adviser of the ward, asserted that the suspension would remain in effect until the former governor cleared his name of the allegations.

However, Abdullahi Abbas, the chairman of the APC in Kano, countered the move, accusing the ward executives of colluding with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). Abbas contended that the suspension was politically motivated and aimed at destabilizing the APC in the state.

The decision to nullify Ganduje’s suspension was announced by the APC state committee in Kano, signaling a rift within the party’s ranks over the handling of the allegations against Ganduje. The state committee’s intervention underscores the ongoing power struggle within the APC in Kano, with factions aligning themselves either with or against the embattled national chairman.

Ganduje, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, has faced allegations of corruption in the past, including a widely publicized video purportedly showing him receiving bribes. Despite the controversies surrounding him, Ganduje has remained a key player within the APC, and his suspension and subsequent nullification highlight the complexities and internal dynamics within the party ahead of upcoming elections.
