Igbokoda, March 16, 2024 – His Royal Majesty, Oba Williams Akinyomi, the Amapetu of Mahin Land, at his residence in Igbokoda, has called upon the youth of Ilaje to embrace skill acquisition as a means of empowerment. His Majesty made this call during the official unveiling of the Ilaje Youth Empowerment 2.0 initiative, set to benefit scores of Ilaje youths.
Organized by the Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative in collaborative effort with Entrepreneurs within the community, the Ilaje Youth Empowerment 2.0 program aims to equip young people with the necessary skills and resources to thrive in today’s competitive world. Through a series of empowerment programs, workshops, and training sessions, participants will gain valuable knowledge in various fields, including entrepreneurship, vocational skills, and personal development.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Igbokoda, Oba Williams Akinyomi emphasized the importance of investing in the youth to secure a prosperous future for the Ilaje community. He stated, “It is imperative that we empower our youth with the tools they need to succeed. By equipping them with valuable skills and knowledge, we are not only investing in their future but also laying the foundation for the development of our community.”
The Ilaje Youth Empowerment 2.0 initiative represents a renewed commitment to youth development in Ilaje Nation and beyond. Through collaborative efforts between the traditional institution, government agencies, and private organizations, the program seeks to create opportunities for young people to unlock their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi, the driving force behind this initiative, reaffirmed its dedication to empowering youth across Ilaje communities. With a focus on sustainable development and inclusive growth, the organization aims to foster a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among the youths.
As Ilaje youths prepare to embark on this transformative journey of empowerment, the Amapetu of Mahinland and other stakeholders have pledged their support and commitment to ensuring the success of the Ilaje Youth Empowerment 2.0 program.
