On Wednesday 23rd October, 2024, some ununiformed officers of the @NPF_Osun_State were reportedly at Elizabeth Estate, Abere, to make an arrest of a young man. According to an eyewitness account, the @official_NSCDC officer at the entrance of the Estate denied them access because they were not in uniform and they also came in a private car.

The available report has it that these police officers went back to mobilize other men in uniform and also came with a Police Van to forcefully gain entrance into the Estate by assaulting the said NSCDC Officer who was reportedly taken to the State’s CID and has been detained since then. Some residents of the Estate were also victims of this assault.

This development is a strong signal for anarchy to thrive and this is why we are calling the attention of the relevant stakeholders to this development to avoid a clash of Security Agencies in Ọ̀ṣun State, as there is a recent report that men of the @NPF_Osun_State have been going around town to arrest officers of @official_NSCDC in Òṣogbo, the Ọ̀ṣun State Capital.

The concerned stakeholders should kindly intervene swiftly as we do not want anything that will disrupt the peace of our society.
